May 2016

We found out early May that Chris  passed his first round of boards. It was a huge relief.

Since Chris was out of school for 2 weeks I had him come in after work one day to have his teeth cleaned. Chewy was his therapy dog ha! Chewy ended up taking a trip to the vet to have his own teeth cleaned later that same week. If only he would let me do it I could have saved so much money.

One lazy Sunday afternoon we got bored and decided to check out Tyler, TX. It was a 2 hour drive and well worth it. Everyone here raves about "east Texas" and "hill country" I understand why. It looked nothing like Texas but more like Georgia. So many massive trees- I loved it.

Of course Chris had to do some fishing. I believe this little guy is a blue gill.

It seems our Austin visits are turning into a semi- annual thing. We just love it there. This time we took our friends Ryan and Shelby then met up with Jason and Rachel who were visiting Jasons parents. Not pictured it our venture through 6th street in down town Austin. It is notorious for its drunken night life and it did not disappoint. I could have sat on a bench with a bag of popcorn and people watched all night.
Kayaking down Barton Springs is a must in Austin. This time we got paddle boards as well.
I m still demoted to designated photographer when kayaking. I don't mind one bit, I just may try to  mess up the paddle rhythm on purpose :)

Rachel and Shelby on the kayak then Ryan and Jason on paddle boards

The 3 boys were like little boys on this trip. I think it was a good stress relief from school.

Joes Crab Shack over looks the river and downtown. We usually try to do local food when there but we were craving sea food and Joes is always good.

LuLu outlet that allows dogs! I now love that store even more than I did before.

Gordoughs Food truck that is actually downtown and inside the building. it is like burgers with donuts as the bun, but not the glazed kind that I ve had at restaraunts before those are awful. The food was AMAZING. We went there twice, the second time just for the dessert donuts.

Trying to see the bats but we missed them, again.

Our favorite dog park is no longer our favorite. They fenced off access to the water which my little dog, that thinks he is a big dog, loves.
Tornado season is weird. There was a tornado 50 miles from us as well as us being under a tornado warning. These clouds are part of the tornado side effects. I like the ripply clouds, I can handle that, but the wake up call to sirens at 1:00 AM is something I don't think I ll ever get use to.

April 2016

My mom, sister-in-law Tiffany, nephew and younger cousin Sydney came to Dallas the middle of April. My mom looks for any excuse to come out here, she loves it here, so she used the excuse of my half marathon. Towards the last 6 weeks or so of my training I slacked, A LOT. Between going to CO and getting sick it just wasn't happening. My time was not near of what I wanted it to be with only running a 10min mile but I was happy I finished without stopping. Maybe next time!

We went to IKEA and Brig loved on this Panda throughout the entire store.

Post 13.1

My friend Shelby did the half as well. It was her first race of any kind and she kicked butt-a natural born runner

Playing in the sand as the volleyball courts. The weather did not  comply that weekend. I was hoping we would be able to take Brigston swimming but it was too cold.

The grass in Texas sucks. I never knew there was a difference until we moved here. It is dry course and prickly. Chewy found some "normal" lush soft grass and you can tell he notices the difference to.
