Rexburg Rush

I competed in my first triathlon and had a blast.  There were four of us from work that did it and I m so glad that we all did because it helped knowing that I was not the only one that had no idea what to expect, that was feeling the butterflies, that got zero sleep from the butterflies, and  felt exhausted afterward. We began training in May with the swim because 3 out of the 4, myself being one of them, had no idea what the heck we were doing in the water. The training was going really good I was enjoying it and beginning to feel confident that I could get myself out of the race alive. Then In July I started my Anatomy class which consumed my life and training became limited therefore I had to fit it in when I could. This meant swimming in between classes and running after midnight because I wouldn't get home until that late. There was no way I could have done it without Chris. He was willing to go on the late night runs with me so I didn't get kidnapped and pushed me to swim in the freezing cold reservoir and made sure I did it and not quit. He was awesome cheering me on throughout the entire race especially during the swim which was the hardest part and hearing him yell got me through it. He let me use his I Pod because I don't have one. I forgot to put it on the workout mix so through the entire bike and run I was jamming out to the Glee soundtrack, John Denver, and Justin Bieber, yes my husband has the Bieber on his I pod.  Bieber was on when I came onto the track for the finish line and it actually gave me a boost and I was able to sprint in. Thankyou Justin Beiber. I m bummed its over I liked having something to work towards and motivate me to stay fit. I can't wait to do another one.

Deer Creek Lake

We went on our first and last camping trip of the year this last week. We went to Deer Creek Lake in Boulder Mtn. Kind of a long drive but worth it. We hiked in few miles and didn't see a single person. We were literally all by ourselves, kind of creepy especially at 2 in the morning when we heard stuff right by our camp. We also hiked into another lake which I forgot to get pictures of and am so mad at myself because it was so pretty. Chris fished almost the whole time and I was able to finally do some leisure reading and read the Hunger Games. Loved them! It was a lot of fun and I look forward to next year so we can actually go more than once.
At the trail head.

We ate the catch one night. It was really good too.
